Tactical Capability

Tactical Database

The BHC2 software retains tactical data elements separate from foundation data to allow independent data erase if required.

The tactical database is partitioned into folders so that sub-sets of data can be viewed without needing to scroll through all data elements.

Other views of the database will show the route data, marks, or all objects. These views can be extended to cover other tactical elements such as overlays.

When a tactical element is selected from the displayed list, a “locate” key is displayed on screen. Activating the “locate” key returns the display to the map view, with the viewed area centered on the tactical element selected.

Network Management System

The BHC2 software supports network management with an integrated software module accessed via the top level HCI. The network management system (NMS) is a complex element of the software closely related to the specific combat radio system (CRS) implementation.

External Sensor Interfaces

The BHC2 is designed to operate with a wide range of external sensors for vehicle monitoring, operator monitoring (bio-sensors), target acquisition, navigation, meteorology, remote ground sensing, video, NBC etc.

Laser Range Finder

A common interface used by most tactical nodes is the Laser range Finder (LRF), which is used to acquire targets automatically into the BHC2 system.

Once acquired, a target can be handed-off to other participants in the informed network in a very short period of time. The acquisition, classification, and hand-off cycle can be achieved in just a few seconds.

Day/Night Sight

In addition to the LRF aspects of target acquisition, the BHC2 software supports the capture, display and onward transmission of video data captured from sight sensors.
