Solider Data Terminals
The SDT is a rugged miniaturized laptop computer; it is designed to either work as part of an IDSS (Integrated Digital Soldier System) or as a stand alone handheld computer. When part of an IDSS the SDT is loaded with the BattleHawk C2 software; when standalone, it is normally supplied with Windows XP.
The SDT is based around an AMD Geode LX800 low-power processor and incorporates a 3.7inch transflective VGA display with toughened touch screen. The SDT housing includes a cursor control device and 14 user configurable buttons.
The SDT can be powered from a number of different power sources;
- External supply (normally from the SIU when used as part of an IDSS).
- Clip-on battery packs containing either 5xAA cells or a rechargeable Li polymer. These supply power to the SDT in stand-alone use, or act as hold-up batteries when hot-swapping the external power supply.
The SDT has connectors to interface with
- Power
- VGA Output for a head mounted display or large planning display
- 2 x USB2.0
- 1-Wire Interface
