Multipliers / Comb Generators

REMEC D&S multiplier designs are tailored for the application:

  • SRD multipliers are used for high multiplication ratios
  • Schottky diode multipliers are used for narrow or broadband, low-phase noise applications
  • Microwave bipolar transistors are used for high-efficiency, low-order multipliers below 10 GHz
  • GaAs FETs are used for low-order multipliers above 10 GHz.

Multiplier Assembly

REMEC D&S's dual-output multiplier satisfies the needs of state-of-the-art low-noise radar systems. Lumped element inter-stage bandpass filters provide high spurious rejection. This design utilizes REMEC D&S's low-cost step recovery diode (SRD) multiplier technology. A custom hybrid voltage regulator prevents phase noise degradation due to supply noise.
