Platform Integration / Installation
All Cobham Defence Communications intercom systems have been designed as a direct one-for-one replacement for the old US Army AN/VIC-1 system and as a result uses the same mounting points and space envelope. In addition, all Cobham intercom products are interchangeable with the same cabling and mounting points consistent on ROVIS (AN VIC 3), LV2 intercom and TacG2 intercom.
ROVIS has been installed and successfully tested in a large number of vehicles, with many types of radios in a variety of climates. The applications have ranged from wheeled and tracked vehicles (utilizing many types and vintages of slip-ring assemblies) to high-powered patrol boats and transport aircraft. The operating climate has ranged from very hot conditions in the Persian Gulf to the humid Far East and the cold Northern Europe climate.
The Cobham Defence Communications installation experts are highly trained and experienced in vehicle surveying and installation and provide valuable input on the system configuration and layout in order to maximize operational efficiency.
Cobham Defence Communications can also customize features to suit individual customer needs when the volume is sufficient.
The skills and experience gained with the installation of vehicle intercom systems are directly applicable to the safe and efficient mounting of the CDC range of Battle Management Systems.
