Integrated Tactical Systems
Cobham Defence Communications is a world leader in platform command and control systems. With over 120,000 systems in service worldwide, CDC Integrated Platform Systems are No. 1 choice of professional forces world wide. Key systems within the Cobham Defence Communications portfolio have been specifically designed to create fully-integrated C4I Platform capability that will meet the current and future needs of modern forces, operating in a diverse range of military conflicts.
Key components of Cobham’s integrated Platform solutions are:
PLATFORM COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEMS – INTERCOMS
Cobham Defence Communications Platform Communications Systems provide the following functionalities:
Fighting the Platform
“Fighting the Platform” is the primary crew function on all modern armored platforms. Systems provide crews with reliable, full duplex systems that enable the platform to fight and maneuver on any battlefield, under all operational conditions.
External Command and Control
A wide range of intercoms provide the user with direct access to external Command and Control Communications. With the addition of the TacG2, CDC can now provide the same highly resilient communications interface to modern IP-based radio systems such as JTRS compliant radios.
Battle Damage Resilience
Mission equipment plays a vital role in maintaining the fighting capability of the Platform, even after battle damage has been sustained. All systems are designed to be resilient to battle damage and have a number of key features that allow the crew to carry on fighting when other equivalent systems would have failed.
- Ring Connectivity
- Dual, protected power supply systems
- Distributed key features such as voice conferencing
- Constant fault monitoring
COMBAT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
The comprehensive range of Combat Management Systems, utilizing the common software base ‘BattleHawk’ provides efficient and effective management of the contact battle up to and including Battle Group level. Unlike Battle Management Systems, the BattleHawk Combat Management System is designed from the ‘bottom up’ and allows lower levels of command to manage the “chaos of battle.” With ease-of-use a key feature across the range of equipment, BattleHawk Combat Management Systems will improve the operational capability of any user at any level.
CLOSE COMBAT RADIO – EAGLE
The latest addition to the Cobham Defence Communications portfolio is the Eagle Close Combat Radio (CCR). This low cost radio provides very efficient local Command and Control at Section/Squad level and incorporates features normally found only in high-cost systems.
Key Features of the Eagle radio include:
- Six simultaneous, full-duplex users to allow for full integration into intercom systems while maintaining deployed Command and Control
- Automatic rebroadcast capability to improve area coverage and range
- Remote access and selection of platform Combat Net Radios (local security constraints may apply).
- Dedicated Situational Awareness reporting channels
- High point to point data rate
- Low-speed data with automatic rebroadcast
ADDED CAPABILITY THROUGH LOW COST INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS
The addition of Cobham Defence Communications Platform solutions has been clearly shown to produce:
- Improved combat efficiency
- Reduce stress under battle conditions
- Improve survivability
- Increase mission success
