BattleHawk Combat Management System

BattleHawk Combat Management System (CMS) provides a fully integrated Situation Awareness (SA) and C4I capability for fighting troops and platforms from Brigade down to the soldiers in the field.

BattleHawk CMS has a series of input/output ports to enable data gathering from a diverse range of sensors. Internal map analysis, GPS and DMC provide the basis for an accurate navigation mode. Dead reckoning and other navigational aids are fully integrated to suit the specific requirements of the end user.

BattleHawk CMS, Command System, Vehicle Platform and Infantry Digital Soldier System (IDSS) and WaveHawk Naval Combat Management System use common software. The use of a generic BattleHawk software package facilitates software maintenance and upgrades, guaranteeing robust interoperability between software systems and hardware configurations in a multilingual format. It provides:

Combat Situation Awareness

  • All data displayed is relative to a large area map with slave screen facility and recorded for after-action review.
  • Own position from integral, high sensitivity GPS module.
  • Integrated Digital Magnetic Compass for direction while stationary.
  • Friendly (Blue) Force tracking locations from, BMS, CMS, or local input.
  • Enemy (Red) force location from BMS, CMS, or local input.
  • Create own or use received overlays for arcs of fire, minefields, and sketches.

Communications

  • BattleHawk CMS supports multi-level long and short range voice and data radios, eg. combat net radio plus infantry assault radio with no effect on CNR performance when connected.
  • Pre-formatted messages (SitReps, CasReps etc), freehand text or sketches.
  • Transmit/receive any map related data e.g. overlays, objects, routes, etc.

Navigation

  • Raster, vector, and terrain imagery or other types supported with center on own position, pan, zoom, or rotate for full map control.
  • Terrain analysis for preparation, planning, and management of routes, waypoints, dead ground, and maximum visible range.
  • Audible warnings for approaching waypoints and hazards.

Sensor Input/output

  • Multiple ports for RS232, USB, video, Laser Rangefinder, Digital Camera, weapon sights, Head Up Display, and other sensors as required.
  • Simple to use touch screen keypad MMI for day and night use.

Security

  • Full, formally established security model.
