This Exciter Module consists of a complete low phase noise Direct Synthesizer at Ku-Band and a Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS) with linear FM Chirp at L-band. All signals are derived from a coherent vibration isolated low phase noise OCXO. The Exciter also contains a fully integrated controller based on the Xilinx Virtex II FPGA. Functionally, the Exciter provides the radar low phase noise agile LO signals as well as all system clocking signals.
