The SPS-250, SPS-350, SPS-500, SPS-1000, SPS-2000, and SPS-4000 product line is a group of gimbals and controls that can be supplied in a variety of configurations with use of minimal Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) to adapt to a customer's payload. This flexibility is achieved by use of modular elevation and azimuth axis drive assemblies with similar or identical components and applying computer aided design (CAD) for the structure to link the modules together to form a two or three axis positioner that is optimal for the desired payload. Our systems are qualified for military environments and are ideally suited for applications that require ground stabilization, shipboard stabilization, and airborne stabilization.

This flexibility is enhanced by the design of the servo control electronics, the Servo Digital Control Unit (SDC) and the Micro Digital Control Unit (MDC), which incorporate microprocessors and associated firmware to tailor the controls to the intended application. The controls are a common electronic platform for the pedestals, but are highly flexible in design themselves. The controls are available in a number of packages - EIA, NEMA housing, ATR packaging or packaged in gimbal. The contros are also available in commercial, commercial ruggedized and full MIL envirnomental performance. The SDC and MDC process the rate, gyro stabilization and position feedback signals, for either standalone operation or via the customer's host or fire control computer.
