Capabilities
Atlantic Positioning System's facility is set-up for design, development, electronic fabrication, assembly and test of the SPS product line. The metal fabrication is "out sourced" to local vendors who have been specifically tooled and approved for APS product details. Consequently, APS' 25,000 square foot facility is designed to do what we so best, the design, assembly, wiring, integration and test of the positioners and controls. The tooling used includes casting patterns, wiring harness boards, test fixtures (boards and purchased assemblies), design tools, test pads, motion tables, and automated system level tests (MATLAB).
In addition to shipment of standard products at a rate of 6 to 12/month, APS has produced production rates of custom products up to 7 - 8 per month, so the infrastructure, tooling and testing capabilities are sufficient for those rates.
Design & Development
APS takes full advantage of the latest design tools that are available. By eliminating the trial and error associated with earlier more manual methods, these tools greatly reduce the time needed for design, analysis, simulation, and layout.
